"I am on a journey... With my work, my explorations, and a few sad stories. I travel with a suitcase full of outrageous blessings. I am on a quest for truth, beauty, and quiet joy. I am an artist, a writer, an explorer."

Time Flies

The realisation that time flies is quite a strong one. It hits you just like that. Strangely enough, this weekend has been all about this. Flashbacks of memories which seemed like yesterday, but then you realise that two years have passed since then, three even, maybe more..and then you think to yourself 'wow, was that really so long ago?'. Sometimes, we just need to sit back and reflect on our life up until now. We spend our days worrying about one thing or the other, we keep telling ourselves that things will get better once this or that happens, but then when the time comes we only feel empty because we have wasted so much energy on rejecting what is happening right now in the present.

Appreciate the moment you're in, there's nothing else. Simply accept it. We let life pass us by thinking that we have time, but the truth is we don't! I'm already in my second year of uni; three years back I had no idea how my life would be right now but I do remember thinking about it often. Isn't that what we do? Always daydreaming about how things 'could' be and not appreciating how they are. It's good to think about the future, to plan things ahead of time, but sometimes we just need to let things flow. After all, you never know what the next moment will bring, you can't be in control of everything, so stop ruining the present moment. Circumstances change, people change, WE change, so just learn to be happy in the here and NOW :)
Stop running; slow down, enjoy life, take whatever comes to you and make the most of it. Things happen for a reason; don't allow situations to get to you. Most importantly, take the time to be there for your loved ones, people who matter most to you, don't take time for granted. They won't always be there. Express yourself; if there is something you want to say, say it before it's too late. Appreciate the people who care about you, especially the ones who are there for you no matter what. Too many days are wasted, years even, and then you realise what really was important for you and what wasn't, you were just busy worrying about other things at the time.
